Pact is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to support our clients who are recovering from mental illness. You will assist them in achieving their personal goals by working alongside their family, whanau or caregivers, under the guidance of Clinical Case Managers.

While full training is provided, the following is essential:

  • Knowledge and experience in the Mental Health sector
  • A commitment to recovery competencies and the strengths model of support
  •  Being a good team player, good administration, computer skills, communication, observations and creativity, imagination, self-drive and an optimistic ‘can do’ attitude
  •  Knowledge of community resources
  • A full driver’s licence
  •  If on a work visa, this must be valid for at least twelve months

Pact is a major provider of community-based mental health services across Southland, Otago, West Coast and the Lower North Island. We are seeking experienced clinical psychologists with a solid track record to deliver a new pilot service within community corrections site.

As a champion of the new service, you will provide clinical mental health assessments, planning and treatment to offenders who experience mental illness, and coach best-practice mental health support within the community corrections team staff and health teams.

This full-time position is for a fixed term expiring on 28/02/2019 and in order to apply you must be a registered clinical psychologist with a post graduate diploma in clinical psychology or equivalent, with robust experience in mental health assessment, treatment and therapy. 

The ideal candidate will have a clear passion for engaging with offenders and probation staff using strengths-based and culturally responsive interventions to empower offenders to actively manage their mental health needs. 

This position offers the opportunity to develop the role within the community corrections health team as well as developing the service region-wide, with strong organisational and clinical support.

Manager: Clinical Services

Pact, a major provider of community services across Southland, Otago, West Coast and Wellington seeks a motivated and inspiring Clinical Manager to join our dynamic Wellington Leadership Team who is dedicated to making a difference in our client’s lives.  This role will provide effective leadership and management across a diverse portfolio of alcohol and other drug services in the community and the improving mental health service located in the prisons/community correction sites in the lower region of the North Island.
 
The right candidate will be an experienced and confident registered health professional with the experience in a senior management role preferably within the community sector. They will also be confident about working collaboratively with funders and key services including clinical, Primary Care, Whanau Ora and other health and social agencies.  It is therefore essential that you have exceptional communication skills, business acumen and a proven ability to build and sustain positive relationships. A tertiary qualification is essential.
 
You need to be resilient, a great problem solver and be able to utilize interpersonal skills to make the most out of challenging situations and create a positive and collaborative working environment despite any challenges. You will be experienced in coaching and mentoring of staff.
 
Reporting to the Wellington General Manager you will join a highly effective team.
