Building Financial Capability
and Housing Coordination

Our support workers encourage people to take responsibility for managing their personal finances, in ways that enhance their wellbeing.

WEST COAST

We support people to improve their financial management skills and increase their awareness of appropriate support services. In doing so, we build people’s capacity to identify issues and help themselves when financial difficulties arise.

We provide budget education programmes, group seminars and workshops and will refer people to specialist interventions, eg insolvency advice when needed.

We ensure people have enough money for their basic needs such as power, rent and food and try to reduce debt. We also provide support to help alleviate the harm that can arise from escalating financial problems.

We also provide a housing coordination service for people struggling to find accommodation on the West Coast. Our housing coordination service helps people whose living environment is contributing to mental illness. Our staff can research options, which may include Pact offerings, or just broker a conversation with a private landlord.

It can be complex to explain how referrals are made to Pact so please get in touch if you want to find out how to access our services. We’ll bend over backwards to help you. Even if you are not eligible for government-funded Pact support, we have other options, including paying for Pact services privately (see individually funded services).
